Liberate Your Dreams ... by harlon rivers

Unlock all those well hidden dreams
Breathe in their
hopeful impending bloom
The colour within
lay barren a swellen bud
yearning like a scorned lover
thirsty for the bitter sweet
Astir an unrequited memories ' afterglow
as they slowly wear away the soul

Time tiptoes past unnoticed ;
comes a time .., time came and went
Allusions of forbidden dreams
of grandeur come unraveled ,
erode away , everlastingly reshaped
Carved by kismet and circumstance
leaving a broken abrasive hindsight ,
like a mouthful of sweet lies

Uncage those secret buried treasures
beheld so closely a mind-made bastille
Unshackle your pining restless wings ;
cast loose the weight , the gravity borne alone ,
rise above to fly far and away
alighting beyond inborn fears

Enkindle the soul’s shine in all its splendor ,
stirred by liberated dreams
Uplifted like soaring
diamond constellations brilliance  ,
enriching the harmony of the universe song

Bring to light the essence of verve ;
the inner shine ensconced by shadows
Unfetter that which chastens
the heart’s pulsing esprit

Embrace a feral anticipation
Imbibe passionate dream's forbidden fruit
Unleash the tameless spirit within ,
pulsing through roiling  veins ,
absolving the raging and restless sole within

Staring inquisitively at the stars beyond the bounds
renewed by an unbridled dreamfulness
searching on a cloud for a lullaby

An ocean full of stars

An ocean full of stars

There is a sky full of oceans
garnered somewhere
between the stars

 An ocean full of stars
between every mirrored
moonlit wave

The moment that carries you forward
is also the very moment
of never being able to go back again

Caught in the incoming tides blossom
when the moment of love rushes in...

A Musical Surrender

A Musical Surrender

Music sweet as love overflows
From my love-laden secret hours .
Music sooth her heart of soul
Impassioned resonance whispers from my heart ,
Beside the gentle, graceful , stream's ripple .
Does the melody arouse some muted desire ?
Flowing peacefully with the river’s song ?

Avow the dazzling starlit sky
Enrapture the sweetest song escaping into nature’s ear .
Above , the moon rains her enchanting beams down
Like flowing notes of effervescent radiance ;
Harmonious , delightful sounds ,
As sad and deep as lamented love's buried treasures .

Surrender to love’s song as the tides of love flood
The barren tide pools of lonely hearts ;
Whatever past tides ebbed away from the love of life ?
Concede the flooding currents fill the heart
So full of love ... the most melodious of all the harmonies ,
That one last drop, one last tear
Of joyful surrender ,  a waterfall .

Let love’s blossoms swell
Into rain awakened flowers .
The genesis of splendor awaits ,
The love song’s intimate accompaniment ,
Yielding an inspiring dream’s transcendence .
Enable the sound of music touch our moonlit slumber
As we embrace in the gentle stillness
Of our merciful surrender…

Cosmic Clouds of Dandelion Wishes

What would become of dreams if we keep them hidden ?

I . . .

The puff of breeze gathered a hazy gossamer cloud
fuzzy blowballs rising afloat like rainbow balloons fly higher
a million ripe dandelion florets mushroom skyward
unleashed kites sail behind clouds breath - -
sweetly poignant lilac fragrance whelms the Spring air
as white organic feathery filament flit , wishes strewn awhirl ,
frolicking with the cadence of uplifting windsong ;
her yearning heart’s fine pappus traces lifted alive ,
a dreamfullness blown aloft by wish infested lips

II . . .

Wishfulness whimsically sown about in the wind
for to reap the will of heart’s desires
white doves fly on hallowed wings of hope's genesis
transcendent sensibilities escape uncommonly
unto the wistful wafting cosmos
scattered felicity flows blissfully
in the blustery wanderlust airstream
chimera entwined in the prevailing updraught
of sublime possibilities
where eddies swirl in ether places ,
swellen with wished upon stardust ,
buoyant with glittering dreaminess ;
overspill a moonstruck stardust
that testifies when she’s near

III . . .

In the whoosh her simple life - breath exhaled ,
imagination joyfully comes to life
lamentable dreams could have been ; could be
lost yens can come to pass lightly
it’s never as good as it is , and it’s never as bad as it is
love must come naturally , unfurl without bounds ;
however fleeting , the moment of love never disappoints
if the pathway climbed never reached an epic apex
mountains stand tall , majestic ,
await each new aspiring dawn
it’s never too soon to surrender souls to touch ;
it’s never too late to forage another passageway ,
manifest into an untrodden higher ground . . .

IV . . .

Gently awakened from a dream by a warm spring chill
while lying back in the tall grass where wild Iris bob and sway
            . . . . . . yawning , . . . . .
looking upward towards the sun soaked sky ,
as something in the gentle whispering breeze
tickles enrapt earlobes , . .
a puff of breeze drifts past lazily
arousing hazy clouds of dandelion float seeds
animating , mesmerizing up , . . up , . . sail away wishes
spiring , sleepy, dream fraught eyes
ascending towards the endless heavens ' azure

 . . . . . . . remembering how you love to believe dreams do come true
smiling with wish infested lips as wishes float away
foreshadowing anticipation soars to life ~

The Adore Within Whispers ...

The Adore Within Whispers ...

Do you notice the adore within allusive whispers ?
Can you feel the unplanned emotions rise ?
Will you just think the ardent wayfaring stranger,

is just possessed by a wanton gypsy heart ?

Will you hear the sigh an unsettling love song ?
As it wafts insatiably amongst the subtle breeze ;
an inflamed heart pleading for a fistful of mercy ,
from this prayer upon these bended knees .

A lonely wandering castaway , lost astray at sea ,
tossing a wishing coin at a fountain far from shoreline .
Imploring for a terrestrial stepping stone ,
that bridges a whole too vast to fill .

Flat stone skipping across rippled waters
Gravity's swirling currents cadences flow
Follow single silken beloved heart’s delicate threads ,
interwoven within this poetic oeuvre reborn .

There’s something in the innate spontaneous way
she lilts with an eurythmic cosmic sway ;
rouse my body feels like the restless sky ,
move the earth beneath these calloused roots .

Unbridled hope renews
crystalline dreams shameless incarnation ,
as radiant as an exquisite baroque pearl .
Caught between all you wish for,
arousing sensibilities mourn for all you need .

An enchanting essence incarnates
the colour these unbroken dreams
budding , blossoming , unfolding unto life ...

If Only in My Dreams ~ Ode to an Enchanting Poetess ~

 If Only in My Dreams
~ Ode to an Enchanting Poetess ~

In dreams she whimsically dances with shooting stars
Where moonshadows cast about , gracefully glide
Playfully she taunts and swirls the twinkling stardust ,
Drawn down from the heavens' twilight reprise

The beauty of the enchanting moonbeams ricochet
From her opalescent aura’s rousing tides
It's as if gifts of the sky rain down for to bask upon ;
Bathe in the revelry in love's ambrosial balm

These lonely eyes have pensively awakened in a daydream
In a lustrous presence where a beautiful soul doth flow
Liltingly chasséing with a nimble alluring cadence
A delicate butterflies' passionate flutter on

This spellbound heart is blissfully inhaling her alluring poetic potion
A tantalizingly free spirit of gifted quill shining bright
She notices not the one here gathering stardust in buttercups
A  secret yearning gaze swills the elixir of her splendor's light

For she adorns an all-encompassing  natural cosmic candescence
With a panache magnetically captivating celestial reign
She paints poetry the colour of a beckoning siren’s dreamscape
Fructifies my soul , the mind , the heart .

Within this hidden passion pulses , thrumming restlessly ,
To the graceful charm of her fanciful swing and sway
My silent reverie muted by the verve of an enchantress ballerina
Only in dreams , you know you love her when you watch her flit away

Unknowingly she has taught these broken wings to fly ;
To feel each and every heartbeat’s vibrant intone
Cherishing every single sacred breath deeply breathed
If only in my dreams ,  knowing in my heart I’ll never be alone

Therein lies the untrodden labyrinth to rhapsody
I’ve sipped the cup beheld her milk and wild mountain honey nectar
Delight in the essence an exotic angel soaring high as kite unfurled ,
Flying free as an arcadian bluebird with Eau de parfum paper wings

Believing without a doubt , the hope in dreams surely comes true ,
Getting ready for the flood , come by here ;
Showering down from beyond the heavens’ vast azure
Waiting here to drown in the moment of love ...

The Honey Bee & The Last Winter Rose

honey bee … sweet honeyed bee

           humming and bumbling
titillatingly buzzing , drunken stumbling ,
wallowing insatiably in blossom's touch

intoxicated within velvety enchantment
impaired by sticky silken pearlessence
the sweet elixir of luscious petals waft

tantalizing little smitten honey bee kisses
brushed of intensely hued honeyed nectar
weighted by pollination's residues

woozy... grounded in an enraptured daze
ne’er desire to fly away again
drawn into mesmerizing hibernation

surrendering , heretofore only a simple wish
... to be held eternally
... lifted by the wings of love

petals enshroud forever wishes
total unconditional embrace imbibes delight
unabridged repose of slumber awaits

enslaved by one love's petaled cocoon
the sweetest rhapsody manifests
honey bee nuzzles the last winter rose ...

~ honeyed blissfulness forevermore ~

Enchanting Wilderness....republished from October 2012

Moonlight moves across the shadows of love born beneath the trees.
Two shadows emerge as one...a poem by Harlon Rivers

Wandering silently
though the wilderness woods,
far and away from the potholes
of well beaten pathways
The soft breeze slowly moves
the shadows of the moonlit night
past the thorny stems of time.
Wildlife paths illuminated by starlight
adorn the alluring wooded trail
Secluded pathways foraged by natural instinct,
Ancestral prudence and intuition

Each shadow drawn willingly
into a deeper enlightening journey
As if synchronicity united hearts
learning to speak minds
The depths of daunting transparency
are rendezvous with awakening breath
Looking back at life withdrawn in discontent
Exhaling newly found freedom without regret
Lost in perpetual motion, found in heart
Separate souls illuminated by the moon
stood alone yearning for healing connection

Ardor of hope shines an inward light
as moonlight slumbers while passion blushes
The night has a thousand eyes
Shining on practical mysticism
The laughing owls of midnight
Echo illusions of  crystal clear reverie
Moved by swirling tempest breezes
showering down from high endeavors
Wisps of the sleeping sky unfurl
teardrops drunk by earth’s sod
Nocturnal Cricket’s rhythmus acoustical wings
are very quietly chirping a bashful courting song

Laughter rings out blissfully
like the joy of a heavenly child
Nature sways with gentle motion
Her leafy arms groan and moan the silent toil
She holds up the weight of the celestial light
Moonlight moves across the shadows
of love born beneath the trees.
Two shadows emerge as one
from the wilderness of sleep
Reborn as naked children
enlightened by the enchanting forest...

The Whole Moon was Pining…

The Whole Moon was Pining...

I.

The full moon’s beams couldn't shine through the haze
when you mask your emotive sensibilities
cloaked behind your veiled penchants
The dappled moon’s gleam
illuminates thy nimbus view
beneath her muddled light,
where whispering moonbeams
illumine from behind and through
the shrouded luminescent night aglow

II.

When you wish a wish upon a twinkling star
ne’er revoke the wish, nary a dream denied undreamt,
after the coin was thrown beyond the mystical bounds
Exhaled from the umbrage of the silence,
a murmured sigh ricocheted from distant realms afar,
under befuddled breathe obscured by the notion;
ne’er a second thought of conscious opine
exhaled in this sullen moment of veiled aches,
yet unnoticed, the olive branches sip quietly from beside the ink well

III.

Disavowed dreams stealing away into befogged thought,
some kind of madness, like the tangerine sunset
recanted by the conflicted twilight azure
The cracks in broken hearts and dreams
are where the resplendent bursting moon’s fetter
enkindles a natural vernal verve
Oh! her magical incandescent waterfall of grandeur
washes over me, basking in this illuminating moment,
bathing in Luna’s enchanting healing balm...

authors notes: This was an experience (!)

Being a moon monger, "where there is a will there is a way"…

Written Tuesday night under full moon, with ink and paper
and brought to a red brick and mortar library world.
First time ever to a library for online access became a narrative of it own saved and published at "Word Whisperer" poetry blog, in another live library moment...

...totally unplanned and spontaneous but needed a spell check
from real ink words...to be entered into the digital box...

...but now is the needed time to requite the whole & full moon’s fetter.

Oasis

Our precious moments together are an oasis
A place where new beginnings evolve into vivid life...

...a poem by Harlon Rivers

Oasis

Our moments together are an oasis
Respite from this journey’s rocky mile
Alone together in a deserted desert island’s secret garden
Where adoring affections
paint the depth of a picturesque
beheld warmth of sweetest tenderness

Hearts and minds impassioned harmony’s opus
Surrendering to love’s enchanting flows
Enlightened by conscious oneness
Yielding to the repose of a silent starlit bay’s twilight halo
Swirling Moon beams dance around like the falling stars ballet
As effervescent currents eddiy in a radiant sky’s afterglow

The blending of connected souls
kindle love’s shimmering light
Love’s tower of strength is euphoric refuge
Shelter from life’s perfect storms
Intimacy surrendered slowly is a soothing sanctuary
Unchained healing in two minds

Happenstance is not an illusion
Turning dark memories’ shadows into light
Illuminating compassionate understanding
Solitude’s allure can leave stars in one’s eyes
Our precious moments together are an oasis
A place were new beginnings evolve into vivid life...

Waxing Crescent Moon

Waxing Crescent Moon

There was a pause in the late night.
Coyote beckoned the moon's faint whispering beams
lamenting her light’s shine full and bright

Now waxing crescent afresh
winks with each passing cloud ,
as if to promise lightly
the shine of a new awaited dawn .

Rooster’s foreboding crow
echoes from the rolling vista ,
ricochets heard the awakening report ,
held breath does not stop a pounding heart

I watched the spider’s
tight wire walk a mile ,
cherry wood poster spanning cherry wood poster,
knowing it is possible to cross
an unknown distance between .

Silk thread drifts aneath the ceiling fan waft ...
floating, falling, tickling forgotten desires
feeling the whispers murmured ;
breathe out heavily
first touch sigh,

... dreaming of sleeping amidst
her fragrant petals
embracing a blossoming rose …

Wild Flower Poesy

. . . a look into the realities of the inspirations of nature...there is such a place and it is happening right now !  Dreams are so much more than imagination coming to life ~

. . . a poem by Harlon Rivers © 2013
Wild Flower Poesy

The soothing warmth of the spring day
made the carpet of green grasses’ cool touch,
titillate impassioned moist flesh.
The afternoon sun filtered through the maple grove;
enchanting the beauty where the branches throw
their favorite shades into the shadows upon the earth’s bouquet.

A poesy of wild flowers paint
a peaceful watercolor palette;
their tantalizing pastel ecstasy, infused a serene stillness.
Only the Sparrow’s yearning serenade, harmonized with the
blissful rapture of the moment’s whispered song.

The fragile Tiger Lilies hidden elegance
draws my breath of heart level
with the Wild Strawberry blossoms  coverlet.
The ornately elegant Wild Irises, ballet above the delicate
dainty Violet Violas adorning the smiling grace
of a quintet of angels.

A poignant fragrance floated through the atmosphere
with an aura of rhapsody
permeating from the double periwinkle Lilac’s mystical elixir.
Intoxicating a woozy presence, chimera stealing away
into a moonstruck daydream, exhaling an inebriated sigh.

The air swirled, sending an inflamed ticklish chill over my body.
In a gentle puff of the aromatic breeze, flora released her essence;
I was awakened, as the dusting pollen left slightly scented traces
upon the aroused skin of a swollen appetite.
Knowing in this moment, in the euphoric shade of the shadows,

It's nature's way of telling me...were are one...

Wish Upon a Tossed Coin

Wish Upon a Tossed Coin

The blue moon’s shining essence
Ricochets off the twilight mirror pond
Fireflies dart and hover
Over her celestial
Looking glass mirage
~
A shadow pitches coins
Into Mother Nature’s soul
Each set free one by one
Wishing one single pining dream would come true
shining throughout forevermore
~
Hushed sighs exhale secret wishes
Heard from the hidden shoreline
A stone’s throw away
You can’t ever get back the wish
After the coin is thrown
~
The coin’s splash dimples
The still water surface
Echoing within the silence
With the verve
of a subtle symphony
~
Driving the rippled rings
Across the mirror ponds still waters
Fading into the distant horizon
further than beyond
~
If a star falls into vast still waters
Does anybody hear the sound?
We are only one starlit shining coin’s wish away from
Driving the rippled still water's hope on forever
Through the end of time . . .

Under The Moonlit Night

Under the Moonlit Night

The enchantment of the moonlit night
has a thousand eyes naturally aglow
Wild Irises glisten from within the impractical magic
The laughing owls pass midnight
basking in the illusions of their shadows,
echoing their crystal clear reverie through the trees
~
Nature gently sways in the swirling tempest breeze
drawing a shower of moon beams down
from far beyond the cosmic grandeur
Wisps of the slumbering sky unfurl
teardrops drunk by earth’s sod
Nocturnal rhythm's acoustical wings
softly chirp a bashful courting song
~
Laughter rings out blissfully alight
As if it were a joyful song of the wind
Mother Nature swings gracefully to and fro
Her leafy willow’s arms bend ardently
as she groans and moans from her silent toil
Passionately bearing the weight
of the celestial light's load
~
Moonlight moves across the shadows
unveiling an adoring love born beneath the trees
Two shadows emerge as one
from deep inside the secrets kept by the sleeping wilds
Reborn like enlightened life under the starlit night
transformed by a moment’s mystical magic
within the enchanting forest yesternight ...

The Melody of a Moment

Sometimes the melody of the moment
has an extremely vague and illicit tone
Distressing sibilance, confusing
the harmonics of the song
Idle time passes and yet circles
the same familiar beginning point
as if frozen, never bending the slightest note
as time slips past without notice

Surrendering to unresolved
pondering wonderment
Accepting natural forgone conclusions
seems like the only
likely option at hand
Although, surrendering in this moment
would feel like the music died

Knowing I have passed
this definitive point repeatedly,
while believing it resembles
an identical lost beginning,
implies an ambiguous ending
as unprovoked thoughts
elicit hazy illusions
of a past moment’s memory

I’ll never learn to comprehend
those cryptic messages
believed to vaguely exist
somewhere in-between the lyrics' lines
of written understanding
Ill-conceived misunderstanding
The chimera of silent reverie

Each time I pass this way
I’ll always wish I still knew you
I’ll always hold out hope
for your awakened understanding
I hear elements of your heart's song
interwoven within broken dreams
of what could have been
harmonic musical reality…

A Broken Moon

A Broken Moon

Stars fall from the sky
as incandescent Moon dust
radiates from the glowing heavens

The brokenhearted moon
wept whispers exhaled
purge effervescent moonbeams

Teardrops sparkle
 like shooting stars,
fading into the twilight

Not all the stars
will fall from the sky
in Luna's tempest storm

Take note of your heart
Love more in a leap of faith
Listen to love steal away over doubts

To shine it’s light ~
Rekindling luminosity in the shadows
of a broken moon …
